New Mexico Interesting People
Geogia O'keeffe was an American painter who is best known for her paintings of flowers and southwestern landscapes. Although she was not born in New Mexico, Georgia began spending her summers painting there in 1929. O'keeffe permantely moved to New Mexico in 1949 and lived there until her death in 1986 at 98 years old.
Demi Guynes Kutcher, aka Demi Moore is an American actress, film producer, film director, former songwriter and model. She was born in Roswell in 1962. Demi was cross-eyed as a child and had 2 surgeries to correct that. She dropped out of high school at 16 to model in Europe. In 1995, Demi was the highest paid female actress.

New Mexico University
The University of New Mexico was founded in 1889. William G. Tight was the third president for the University serving from 1901-1909. President Tight was responsible for the introduction of "Pueblo Revival" architecture to the school.

The red and gold coloring of New Mexico's flag represent Spain. The Zia symbol is an ancient Native American symbol for the sun.
