 Texas Sports

Beginning in 1966 the Dallas Cowboys started the tradition of hosting the Thanksgiving Day game. In 1975 & 1977, football commissioner Pete Rozelle requested that the (then) St. Louis Cardinals host the game. Due to lack of fan attendance and other circumstances, the Cowboys resumed hosting in 1978 and have ever since.

Originally founded as the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas on October 4, 1876, it's name  was changed to Texas A&M University in 1963. The "Aggies" have been part of the Southeastern Conference since 2012.
