Goodbye Virginia
The last "road trip" I took to Virginia was in the mid 1970s during high school spring break. My older sister had just bought a brand new, yellow, VW Super Beetle with sunroof and we headed to Virginia Beach! I remember getting "stuck" going around and around the Baltimore Beltway three times before a man literally got in his car and led us to where we were supposed to exit. We made it to the beach...but being young and not so bright, we ended up sick in our motel room for a few days from sun poisoning!
