With the excess milk from the cows, the Wisconsin farmers made cheese, lots of cheese. The first commercial cheese making factory in Wisconsin opened in 1841.

The Brandy Old Fashioned has been a favorite in Wisconsin since the German settlers and their love of brandy arrived. More than half of the brandy produced in the U.S. is sold to Wisconsin.
