Tennessee Food and Drink!

Inexpensive, loaded with calories for the sawmill workers, biscuits and gravy have been a staple since after the Revolutionary War. Using leftover pan drippings, sausage, flour and milk, biscuits and gravy have helped stretch a family's food budget.  





With the immigration of the Scottish, Irish and Welsh in the late 1700's...along came their knowledge of distilling. Some Tennessee farmers found more profit turning their corn crops into whiskey.
