 Tennessee Historical

Tennessee's nickname is "The Volunteer State". They originally earned this name during the War of 1812, when many of the men from Tennessee volunteered to fight. In 1846, during the Mexican-American War, Tennessee was asked to send 2,800 soldiers...they sent 30,000.
